The Evaluation at Height Pediatrics

The initial evaluation consists of several parts

 
  • Interview with parents and child

  • Review of neuropsychological evaluation, IEP and report cards

  • Screening for co-morbid condition

  • Careful evaluation to rule out conditions that may mimic ADHD (thyroid conditions, OSA)

  • Careful evaluation to rule out other conditions like Hyperthyroidism, lead intoxication, anemia, depression, anxiety or other mood orders and learning disabilities.

  • Blood work to assure overall health

  • Standardized behavioral scales ( Vanderbilts or similar) from parents and teachers 

  • Tova test 

  • Education and resources for parents 

Process of Elimination

We carefully evaluate our patients through a funneling process where we narrow it down to ADHD, considering all other possibilities and comorbidities.
