The initial evaluation consists of several parts
Interview with parents and child
Review of neuropsychological evaluation, IEP and report cards
Screening for co-morbid condition
Careful evaluation to rule out conditions that may mimic ADHD (thyroid conditions, OSA)
Careful evaluation to rule out other conditions like Hyperthyroidism, lead intoxication, anemia, depression, anxiety or other mood orders and learning disabilities.
Blood work to assure overall health
Standardized behavioral scales ( Vanderbilts or similar) from parents and teachers
